ESA — Environmental Science Associates

ESA is a 100% employee-owned environmental consulting firm that is on the vanguard of the industry. Their diverse range of experts throughout their offices in the Pacific Northwest, California, and the Southeastern United States position them as a leader in community-minded and culturally responsive environmental solutions. Their team consists of scientists, planners, historians, archeologists, engineers, designers, and technical specialists–bringing a multidisciplinary approach offering effective and enduring environmental solutions.

Challenge

ESA sought to highlight more of their projects on the Pacific Northwest for their online blog content. They needed a focus on their unique, multidisciplinary approach while also being mindful of potential client considerations. Additionally, ESA needed someone who could take complex industry concepts and translate them for a wider audience to showcase their work more broadly, particularly showcasing their cutting edge approach.

Solution

Doerr&Co.’s location in the Pacific Northwest gave Elizabeth the vantage point and understanding of the region and environmental issues within to highlight ESA’s projects in the region. Additionally, her background in journalism helps her bring out the elements of the stories–provided through interviews with ESA staff–that will appeal to a broad audience. Elizabeth is also able to turn technical projects into compelling stories that speak not only to potential and current ESA clients, but effectively shows to a broad audience how their work taps into the most current science, policy, and approaches in the field.

Deliverables

Narrative blog posts that showcase the essential work of ESA.

Work Samples

“Elizabeth makes the process – from discovery calls and interviews, to finessing drafts – a pleasure! Right away, she skillfully handled interviews with our many scientists, planners, and technical specialists to get the crux of the story. Elizabeth has contributed greatly to our content development process, increasing our capacity to share ESA’s work with our clients, partners, and staff across our website, social media, and newsletter platforms.”
