Our Services / Thought Leadership
We work with people, brands, and organizations to position your work as a powerful voice for creating change. We help craft the story that connects your work, your passion, and your mission to the larger picture of what is going on in the world and showcase what sets you apart.
What is Thought Leadership?
Thought leaders are influencers and leaders in their field. Your expertise, your perspective, and your ideas have the potential to shape the industry. Below are some examples of what you can expect to come out of our Thought Leadership content strategy development.
Brand messaging strategy
We center your thought leadership through the development of a messaging strategy. We help move your communications beyond content-for-the-sake-of-content and elevate your platform to be a part of a larger movement.
Short-form content
We develop short articles for your blog and newsletter such as detailed profiles of people and programs that show your mission in action. This content is created as a part of the brand messaging strategy.
Media publications
We help showcase your work to a broader audience by developing content to be published in local, regional, and national media publications. We work on reported stories, op-eds, and letters to the editor that showcase your work and your ideas to a broader audience.
Reports and white papers
We help you tell your story to your funders and the broader public through ensuring your reports tell a story that can showcase your impact and help push the field forward. We also write and advise on white papers and other reports that specifically report on the detailed aspects of your work.
The Process
Thought leadership and content strategy are inextricably linked as all of the content and strategy we create is meant to raise your profile as a thought leader in your industry. Here’s the general process:
Step 1
Communications Strategy Audit and Needs Development
This is a baseline process for every project that requires getting to know your brand, your values, what you stand for as well as what your pain points are in communications. We conduct the “audit” through interviews with key leadership and team members to understand the story it is you want to tell and what your values as an organization are. The results help drive the high-quality content that you can expect to come out of our partnership. At the conclusion of the audit, you’ll receive a brand guide that is a foundational document for everyone at your organization to learn and connect with your vision, mission, and values and how to communicate those internally and externally.
Note: If you hire us for a long-term contract to implement the strategy, this audit is complementary. Without the long-term contract, the audit comes at a fixed rate.
Step 2
Create Brand Strategy/Content Development Agreement
From the audit, we will discuss steps around what is needed to execute the brand strategy coming out of the audit, what the deliverables will be, and what our partnership will look like. We will decide on the frequency and medium of the content.
Step 3
Develop Brand Strategy/Thought Leadership Content
This is the stage where we carry out the content development based on the agreement above. The frequency of content depends on the medium (e.g., blog or newsletter posts are usually biweekly or monthly) and we can always include longer-form content (see Thought Leadership description for what those look like) as add-ons to the regular content for an hourly rate.
